Full Text:
Tim Sweeney, current program director for the Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, and chair of the board of directors for Funders for Lesbian and Gay Issues, has been appointed executive director of the Gill Foundation effective October 1, 2007, and will lead the foundation's strategy and programs.

"I am very excited because the Gill Foundation has always had a clear sense of strategy that includes a focus on state issues, deeply investing in research and communications, and using their resources to build national organizations and promote partnership and collaboration," Sweeney said.

Tim Gill, founder and chairman of the Gill Foundation, made the announcement earlier this week. Current executive director Rodger McFarlane will continue with the Gill Foundation as senior advisor, focusing primarily on relationships with allied foundations and philanthropists. Katherine Peck also will continue at the Gill Foundation as chief operating officer, focusing on the foundation’s national grantmaking as well as finance and administration.
